Position Summary The Program Manager is responsible for leading cross‑functional programs from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and alignment with customer and business requirements. This role is pivotal in coordinating internal resources, and driving new product introductions, process improvements, and key operational initiatives within the manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage full lifecycle of programs, including new product launches, engineering changes, and cost‑reduction initiatives.
Lead cross‑functional teams to deliver projects from concept to completion.
Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies – experience with APQP process is desired.
Coordinate and align internal departments (engineering, production, quality, supply chain, finance) to meet program and project objectives.
Track program performance using appropriate tools (timelines, budgets, metrics) and report status to leadership.
Develop detailed project plans and risk mitigation strategies for tooling, materials, production trials, and customer approvals.
Oversee customer onboarding and ensure technical and production readiness for new business awards.
Facilitate effective communication across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, reduce cost, and improve delivery performance.
Manage changes in scope, schedule, and resources, and elevate issues as needed to meet program goals.
Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and company procedures.
Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
5+ years of project or program management experience in a manufacturing environment; plastics industry strongly preferred.
Proven track record of successfully managing complex programs with multiple stakeholders.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, or injection stretch blow molding.
Experience with project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.) and ERP/MRP systems.
Excellent leadership, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to internal teams and customers.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Typical office and manufacturing floor environment.
Must be able to occasionally travel to customer sites or suppliers.
Ability to work flexible hours during major program milestones or launch phases.
