Clifford Chance . Job Description The role We are looking to hire a Business Development Manager to lead our Latin America team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the formation and execution of our Latin America Group strategy. This role requires a deep understanding of the economic, political, and social factors that influence the Latin America market. Who you will work with You will work with the Global Head of Sectors, Markets and Themes, who will be responsible for defining and executing our global sector, markets and themes strategy, as well as the Co-Heads of our Latin America Group and its communities across key product areas and key offices to deliver on the group\'s strategy, which will include driving client development, opportunity spotting, market analysis, overseeing profile raising activities and evaluating return on investment. We were the first global firm with a dedicated Latin America practice providing clients with holistic advice across the region\'s highly diverse legal, economic and cultural landscapes. Our firm is ranked Band 1 and Tier 1 in several practices by Chambers Latin America and Legal 500 Latin America, respectively. What you will be responsible for Identify and leverage opportunities for growth within the Latin America market, enhance the firm\'s market position, and ensure the delivery of integrated, legal solutions to our clients. Collaborate with sector, themes and global strategic client teams to develop priority clients and prospects via a systematic and thematic approach. Drive and support disciplined client outreach and client relationship activity across markets. Foster cross-product collaboration with global business units and thought leadership teams. Maximise client relationship building and reputation through flagship marketing and events programmes in collaboration with the Marketing team. Prepare and rehearse lawyer teams for pivotal business development and relationship meetings with clients and prospects. Utilise the Client Insight & Business Intelligence Team and sector teams to inform strategic marketing decisions and client development. Increase visibility of upcoming and planned client meetings to drive cross-selling. Lead brand and reputational activities for the Latin America region, working with practice area and sector BD leads. Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks in Latin American markets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage market insights for growth in the region. Stay up to date with developments in Latin American markets and provide timely updates to stakeholders. Build and maintain relationships with key market participants, including government officials, industry experts, and business leaders. Keep core marketing and pitch materials updated on the Firm\'s pitch database (Foundation). Ensure best practice in the legal directory process to protect Band 1 positions and improve rankings. What you will do Develop and implement market strategies aligned with the firm\'s objectives, in collaboration with the Global Head of Sectors, Markets & Themes. Drive development of the firm\'s expertise in key sectors and products across markets. Identify emerging themes and trends with Client Insights and BI Team and integrate into services and client solutions. Foster cross-practice collaboration to deliver integrated campaigns, working with marketing and BD teams. Enhance market positioning and client relationships within chosen themes. Position the firm as a leader in Latin America through thought leadership, speaking engagements, and participation in relevant events. Serve as the global point of contact for Latin America enquiries, including pitch input and cross-practice opportunities. Qualifications Your experience Extensive experience in business development, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment, and ideally in a regional-focused role. Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is required. Proven track record of developing and executing successful BD and marketing strategies. Excellent relationship-building skills and exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation abilities. Strong technical proficiency with tools like CRM and Mergermarket. Bachelor\'s degree in business, marketing, law, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. Ability to adhere to the Firm\'s Agile Working Policy, including working from the office at least three days per calendar week. Must be independently legally authorized to work in the United States.
