Business Development Manager – Latin America
We are looking to hire a Business Development Manager to lead our Latin America team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the formation and execution of our Latin America Group strategy. This role requires a deep understanding of the economic, political, and social factors that influence the Latin America market.
What you will do
Working with the Global Head of Sectors, Markets & Themes, develop and implement comprehensive market strategies that align with the firm’s overall business objectives.
Drive the development and deepening of the firm’s expertise in key sectors and product areas.
Identify emerging themes and trends across sectors and geographies, integrating insights into services and client solutions.
Foster collaboration across practice areas to deliver integrated themes and go-to-market campaigns with the marketing team.
Enhance market positioning and client relationships, identifying new business opportunities and strengthening cross-selling opportunities.
Position the firm as a leader in Latin America through thought leadership, speaking engagements, and participation in relevant forums and panels.
Serve as the key global point of contact for Latin America-related inquiries, including input on pitches and cross-practice/cross-office opportunities.
What you will be responsible for
Identify and leverage opportunities for growth within the Latin America market, enhancing the firm’s market position and delivering integrated legal solutions to clients.
Ensure the Latin America group collaborates with sector, themes and global strategic client teams to develop priority clients and prospects.
Lead flagship marketing and events programmes in collaboration with the Marketing team to maximise client relationships and reputation.
Prepare and rehearse lawyers for pivotal meetings with clients and prospects.
Provide market insight to inform strategic marketing decisions and support client development.
Oversee market research, market analysis, and updates on Latin American developments for stakeholders.
Build and maintain relationships with key market participants, including government officials, industry experts and business leaders.
Keep core marketing and pitch materials updated in the Firm’s pitch database (Foundation).
Promote best practices in directories, awards and rankings to maintain Band 1 positions where applicable.
Qualifications
Extensive experience in business development, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment, with regional focus experience preferred.
Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is required.
Proven track record in developing and executing successful BD/marketing strategies and initiatives.
Excellent relationship-building, communication and presentation skills (written and verbal).
Strong technical proficiency with tools like CRM and Mergermarket.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, law, or related field; MBA or similar advanced degree preferred.
Must be able to adhere to the Firm’s Agile Working Policy requiring office presence at least three days per calendar week.
Must be independently legally authorized to work in the United States.
