As a Team Leader, you’ll lead a customer‑centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office. You’ll serve as the front‑line manager to provide leadership and development, deliver an outstanding client experience, and achieve office growth objectives. You’ll also be a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates.

Typical Day As you inspire people to make confident, informed decisions about their lives, careers, and money, you’ll build client relationships that grow stronger each year. You’ll lead daily activities to ensure tax office associates meet deadlines with quality standards and priorities. You’ll train and coach associates to execute Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions. You’ll lead daily team meetings, create schedules, and manage timekeeping.

Responsibilities

Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement

Assist the District General Manager in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office associate positions

Serve as the point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns

Ensure clients are scheduled properly and conflicts are resolved

Lead daily activities to ensure that all tax office associates work is completed according to deadlines, with attention to quality standards, priorities and goals

Build an engaging team environment by training and coaching associates to execute on Service Standards

Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates

Create associate work schedules and ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime management

Prepare tax returns, as required

Conduct timely performance reviews and address associate issues

Qualifications / Expertise

Prior experience in a customer service, shift leader, or similar role

Experience supervising or managing people

Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course* (if preparing tax returns)

Annual completion of continuing education and ability to meet IRS/state requirements

Computer proficiency with MS Office

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Customer-centric mindset with resilience

Flexible work schedule and assignments based on business needs

High school diploma / equivalent or higher

Pay Range The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. Individual pay decisions depend on experience, education, skill, performance, and location. Eligible associates may participate in incentive plans and benefits as described by policy.

Pay Range : $15.00 - $65.00/Hr.
