Foreman – Heavy Civil Contractor
We are a heavy civil contractor specializing in earthmoving, utility installation, and structural development for public, industrial, and commercial projects across Northwest Ohio. We are seeking a Foreman to lead and supervise on-site work crews for industrial, renewable energy, and civil construction projects.
Responsibilities
Supervise daily field operations to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met or exceeded.
Lead crews in alignment with OSHA, MSHA, and company safety programs; conduct daily safety talks and enforce compliance.
Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to ensure work meets or exceeds requirements.
Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain schedule, budget, and productivity targets.
Manage project documentation including daily reports, extra work forms, and cost tracking in HCSS Heavy Job.
Oversee equipment use and maintenance, reporting issues promptly to the superintendent.
Provide ongoing training and mentorship to crew members while maintaining positive employee relations and compliance with company policies.
Support field operations by ensuring all materials, equipment, and client resources are available as needed to meet project goals.
Qualifications
Field experience in heavy civil or landfill construction, including mass excavation and HDPE pipe installation (preferred).
Background in heavy equipment operation and understanding of production tracking and cost control.
30‑Hour OSHA certification, MSHA certification, and First Aid/CPR training required or willingness to obtain.
Strong leadership, communication, and time‑management skills with a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving.
Ability to travel regularly throughout Northwest Ohio to support multiple project sites.
