Since 1914, the Greater Atlantic City Chamber has provided the local business community with meaningful services to create a favorable economic climate. We work together to foster growth in the region’s economy and create a higher quality of life. We are the convener, voice, and advocate of our diverse and collaborative membership who drive Atlantic County's success.
Position Summary The President serves as the chief executive of both the Greater Atlantic City Chamber, a 501(c)6 membership-based organization, and its Foundation 501(c)3. The President is a dynamic, growth-minded individual capable of strategic thinking, operations, and staff management, financial stewardship, program development, and bipartisanship with a proven track record of success as well as a strong record of community involvement. A candidate for this position demonstrates expertise in strategic planning, public policy, economic development, finance and accounting, public speaking, partnership and coalition development, and fundraising
Key Responsibilities
Membership Development & Retention : Actively recruit new members, while fostering strong relationships with existing members to ensure long-term retention.
Event Planning & Execution : Lead the planning and execution of Chamber events such as ribbon cuttings, an awards reception, policy, leadership, and educational seminars, and networking events.
Marketing & Promotion : Develop and implement effective marketing strategies across social media, newsletters, and other communication channels to promote the Chamber and its events.
Operational Management : Oversee day-to-day office operations, ensure efficient execution of administrative functions, and manage the budget in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
Member & Board Relations : Serve as the primary liaison for Chamber members and the Board of Directors, keeping them informed and engaged with Chamber activities.
External Relations & Advocacy : Represent the Chamber at local and regional events, advocate for Chamber initiatives, and collaborate with business, non-profit, and civic organizations.
Strategic Planning : Work closely with the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the Chamber’s goals and mission.
Advocacy & Policy : Represent the Chamber’s interests with government and community stakeholders; lead advocacy efforts aligned with business priorities.
Professional Development : Stay informed about industry trends, attend professional development opportunities, and cultivate partnerships to enhance Chamber member benefits.
Workforce & Economic Development : Collaborate on workforce initiatives and build partnerships that enhance regional economic vitality.
Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of executive-level leadership experience in business, nonprofit, or membership-based organizations.
Strong financial management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Experience in strategic planning, advocacy, and workforce or economic development.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Work Location This is NOT a remote position. This role is a combination of desk work and on-site, hands-on work that requires in-person attendance at events and meetings around Atlantic County. Work is completed in digital formats individually and in collaborative groups. Social capacity includes meetings, networking at events, and public speaking. Occasional evening hours are required.
Salary & Benefits SALARY
$90,000-$115,000 depending on level of experience.
