What to Expect
The Material Review Board (MRB) Technician is responsible for managing the parts rejected by production or the field, bringing a cross‑functional team quickly together to accurately determine root cause and disposition the rejected parts appropriately. The MRB Technician collaborates with Quality Engineers, Production Control, Operations, Process Engineers, Material Planning, Supplier Quality Engineers and Supplier Industrialization Engineers to contain any quality defects identified in Production or in the field.
What You'll Do
Operate in the 'inspect, diagnose and repair' mindset
Guide MRB team to properly disposition parts in timely manner, driving root cause investigations. Participate in daily Material Review Board meetings with presence from Supplier Industrialization, Quality Engineering, Process Engineering and Operations
Document and communicate any identified defects on parts. Collect defective parts and secure in MRB area
Disposition non‑conforming material accurately and in a timely manner, including any material transactions. Ensure accurate inventory in the MRB area both virtually and physically, along with proper documentation
Construct and maintain strong relationships with cross functional teams in all locations (onsite and offsite to Factory)
Create Supplier corrective action requests, including obtaining & logging updates to open requests. Transact MRB inventory as necessary, to include returning any part to the supplier
Track and present data trends on defects identified using data applications and systems. Documenting Supplier Corrective Action Requests, including follow‑up to all open requests
What You'll Bring
Experienced in QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA preferred. Experience in SQL, Python, Mintab/JMP, and Solidworks/Catia is preferred. Experience with quality and process control in a high‑volume manufacturing environment
Working understanding of basic statistical concepts and methods
Highly skilled in complex problem solving and root cause analysis techniques
Perform detailed daily record keeping and reporting
Handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines
Excellent technical communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment
Degree a plus
Essential Physical Demands
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day
Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, reflective vest, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
