Overview Join Tesla as an Incoming Quality Technician in our Quality team. You will manage parts rejected by production or from the field, collaborate across functions, and drive accurate root‑cause analysis and disposition of rejected parts.

Responsibilities

Operate with an ‘inspect, diagnose, and repair’ mindset.

Guide the Material Review Board (MRB) team to properly disposition parts in a timely manner, driving root‑cause investigations.

Participate in daily MRB meetings with suppliers, quality engineering, process engineering, and operations.

Document and communicate any identified defects on parts and secure defective parts in the MRB area.

Disposition non‑conforming material accurately and in a timely manner, including material transactions and inventory updates.

Build strong relationships with cross‑functional teams across all locations (onsite and offsite to Factory).

Create supplier corrective action requests, obtain and log updates on open requests, and transact MRB inventory as needed.

Track and present data trends on defects identified using data applications and systems.

Qualifications

Experience with QS‑9000, ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA preferred.

Proficiency in SQL, Python, Minitab/JMP, and SolidWorks/Catia is preferred.

Experience with quality and process control in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.

Working understanding of basic statistical concepts and methods.

Highly skilled in complex problem solving and root‑cause analysis techniques.

Perform detailed daily record keeping and reporting.

Handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines.

Excellent technical communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.

Degree is a plus.

Essential Physical Demands

Perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day.

Stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain.

Lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs.

Bend, lift and reach to install parts.

Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day.

Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures.

Find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing.

Wear personal protective equipment, including hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, reflective vest, and adhere to prescribed safety rules and guidelines.
