Responsibilities
Development of marketand decision making- analysis, evaluation, and optimization of supplier portfolio.
Expert in sourcing new suppliers for multiple commodities such as fasteners, injection mold components, gaskets, automation equipment, metal stampings and sub-components.
Manages supplier databaseensuring information is up to date and correct.
Create Purchase Requestions & Purchase Orders
Investigate & develop potential suppliers for various applications.
Work with sub-suppliers to maintain performance standards & expectations.
Independent execution of cost and contract negotiations protecting company interest.
Manage & track supplier related cost reduction initiatives.
Identification and implementation of cost optimization potentials during serial production phase: cost/process related, resourcing/in-sourcing activities and execution of commodities strategies maintaining or improving quality of material or product.
Calculate & manage spend amounts by suppliers.
Support supply chain optimization to improve materialflow, capture value or reducewaste in the supply chain.
Interaction with departments to ensure continuous service and supportof ongoing projects.
Planning, investigation and coordination of purchasing activities for prototypes and complete order processing.
Identify and implement improvement possibilities of the projectand potential cost savings.
Execute development of business planningand tool cost of prototypeand volume production.
Ensure on-time industrialization of projects supporting project management teams for the successful launch of programs.
Participate intechnical discussions and cost savingnegotiations with suppliers- including VA/VE opportunities through-out the launch.
Spearhead BOM Management & enter data as required within a timely manner.
Other duties maybeassigned detrimental to the goalsand objectives of the organization.
Skills
Commodity purchasing skillsets are a plus.
Strong negotiation skills(terms, pricing & invoice payments).
Expert in the development of new suppliers & eliminating risk during the process.
Self-motivated,demonstrated work ethicsand result oriented.
Familiar with SAP system preferred but not mandatory.
Microsoft office skills (Outlook, Word,Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and others).
Ability to communicate effectively and concisely.
Ability to work in a fast paced,startup environment.
Strong time-management and prioritization skills,able to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Great entrepreneurial spirit and can work with less supervision.
Take ownership of commodities & understand suppliers while developing long-term relationships.
Qualifications
College education preferred but not mandatory.
Ability to work remotely & efficiently while also working at corporate office as needed.
2-5 yr. experience as a professional in commodities purchasing (injection molding, resins, components, seals, gaskets, and equipment).
Experience in CAPEX and machinery procurement is an advantage.
Ability to travelas needed 25%-35%.
Strong desire to participate in a challenging start-up environment while working in a critical role for the company.
