Job Description Security Systems Technician
A well-established systems integrator is seeking an experienced
Security Systems Technician
to support large-scale commercial security installations across the Denver metro area. This is a hands‑on role with strong potential for advancement into a supervisory position for candidates who demonstrate initiative, technical expertise, and reliability.
You will be responsible for the installation, programming, and troubleshooting of access control and CCTV systems on commercial job sites. The ideal candidate is currently working in the field and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Install and service access control and CCTV systems on commercial job sites.
Program and troubleshoot systems without supervision.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Coordinate with project managers and supervisors to ensure project milestones are met.
Provide daily updates and maintain accurate documentation for job tracking and invoicing.
Required Skills and Experience
Extensive experience with:
Access control hardware (mag locks, electric strikes, card readers, REX devices, electrified hardware)
CCTV systems (interior and exterior camera installation, IP camera configuration)
Rack‑mounted equipment (network switches, UPS, servers, patch panels)
Troubleshooting faults (open line, shorted line, ground faults)
Strong understanding of low‑voltage electrical theory and relay logic.
Familiarity with ADA and sliding door integration.
Ability to manage projects involving 2 to 10 doors or cameras, including multiple head‑end locations.
Proficiency in reading blueprints and determining cable routing paths.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Additional Requirements
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Must be willing to travel to job sites in your own vehicle for the first 12 months.
Advanced computer skills, including MS Office.
Familiarity with local AHJ code requirements is a plus.
Contract Details
12‑month contract‑to‑hire (CTH) structure.
Potential for early conversion after 6 months based on performance.
Minimal overnight travel; most work is local to the Denver metro area.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
