State of North Carolina Insurance Regulatory Analyst II
Salary Recruitment Range: $62,739 - $70,385 Salary Grade: NC19 This position currently qualifies for a hybrid telework option with routine office and remote workdays. The NC Department of Insurance trusts our employees to be self-motivated and successful in hybrid/remote roles. Telework options are subject to change at the discretion of management. Mission of the Department of Insurance: To promote a stable insurance market through unbiased regulation and to protect the lives and property of every citizen in all 100 counties while fostering superior, user-friendly service, courtesy, and respect. Primary Purpose of the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to review the more complex and highly technical policy form filings and premium rate justifications. Employees in this position must have extensive cross-training in the evaluation of individual and group life and annuity forms and rate justifications, as well as in individual and group major medical health insurance plus specialty health insurance coverages (i.e., Medicare supplement, long-term care insurance, and limited disease coverages). The position assists the Supervising Analyst in reviewing work completed by Analyst I and mentors the Analyst I with assistance and consultation in their own review and handling of contracts and other filings. The Analyst II is also assigned to research and process procedures for projects (usually in subject areas that relate to their routine work). Incentives of NC State Employment:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business or economics or a related program from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in policy and rate examinations, underwriting, claims adjusting work, or financial/marketing analysis; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Education and Experience: Completion of Fellow Life Management Institute, Certified Life Underwriter, or equivalent professional designation could be substituted for one year of the experience.
