Job Description Quality Inspector is a value-added single-source contract manufacturer of machined components, finished fabricated sheet metal, and assembled metal products. Our three facilities encompass all aspects of metal product manufacturing, including our own on-site finishing with powder, paint, and graphics capability. We serve the OEM, Industrial, Healthcare/Medical Device, Aerospace/Defense, Renewable Energy, and Electronics markets by manufacturing both conventional and the most technically demanding items. We have been doing so for companies from Fortune 500 to small and midsize firms since 1952.
Responsibilities
Inspects product at various stages of the production process and evaluates data to determine if the process can meet all requirements.
Performs first‑piece, in‑process, and final inspection on manufactured parts using measuring equipment per the quality plan.
Documents all findings on inspection paperwork and ensures that all inspections/tests specified by the Quality Plans have been completed.
Audits internal manufacturing processes to assure compliance with standards and general work practices meeting company objectives.
Stops production, investigates, and tags nonconforming product; completes DMRs and notifies Quality and Operations Manager.
Re‑inspects reworked material, verifies disposition, and closes out DMRs.
Performs and creates First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102 as required.
Works with quality department personnel to verify calibration dates and accuracy of gauges on the production floor.
Qualifications
3‑5 years of related experience and/or training.
Associate degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical institute.
Knowledge of GD&T and blueprints.
Proficiency with hand‑measuring equipment and various inspection devices.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
High school level mathematics and strong reasoning ability.
Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, email, database software.
Ability to operate coordinate measuring machines with existing programs.
