Today, it is a division of the New York Blood Center and a key part of the community's healthcare system, employing approximately 175 staff members as of October 2019. Our mission is to provide safe and sufficient blood for patients in our community.
Position: Blood Collection Technician (Full-Time) Location: New Castle County Mobile Team
No medical experience needed! We train individuals who are welcoming and committed to excellent customer service for our donors.
Travel and meet new people in a fast-paced environment
Weekend differential: +$1.50/hr

Sign-on bonus: $2,500 (paid in 3 installments over the first year)
The Mobile Blood Drive Team at BBD in Newark, DE, offers training for experienced phlebotomists and newcomers to healthcare. The team works varied schedules at different locations, with schedules provided 2 weeks in advance. We value work-life balance and seek individuals eager to be part of a healthcare team.
Responsibilities include:
Conducting donor interviews and blood collection following guidelines
Preparing equipment and supplies, ensuring quality standards
Exemplifying customer service and core values
Minimum qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 2 years of face-to-face customer service experience
At least 1 year managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Valid driver’s license
Additional details:
Shift schedule: mornings, evenings, weekends (schedule released 2 weeks in advance)
Entry-level position with a 3-step career ladder
Essential during severe weather or emergencies
