Job Title: Service Advisor (BMW Dealership)

Overview

The Service Advisor greets clients, collects vehicle data, and determines initial repairs. He/she provides cost estimates for labor and parts, establishes promised times, and follows up with clients. The role requires clear communication with clients, BMW, and third-party entities to ensure accurate and timely payments for authorized repairs. Adheres to manufacturers’ specifications and maintenance guidelines and maintains dealership standards for efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Greets clients in a timely, friendly manner and welcomes them into the dealership.

Conducts a walkaround with the client, compiles vehicle data, and determines initial repairs.

Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts; establishes promised time and follows up with the client appropriately.

Monitors progress of repairs, communicates any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains cost and time requirements in detail, and obtains proper authorization before additional repairs are performed.

Maintains a high Customer Satisfaction Index rating in accordance with BMW standards.

Communicates with the client, BMW, and third-party companies to ensure accurate and timely payments for authorized repairs.

Advises customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining vehicles per manufacturers’ specifications, using maintenance menus.

Maintains dealership-prescribed standards for hours per customer repair order written.

Understands and follows federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., hazardous waste disposal, OSHA right-to-know).

Compensation Compensation:

$75k-$150k Annually

$2,000 / Month Draw + Commission

Qualifications

High school diploma or the equivalent.

Two years of experience in a dealership position.

General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations.

ASE certification preferred.

Sales experience preferred.

Professional personal appearance.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to pass pre-employment testing (background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license).
