Job Description Supervises:

Project Managers, Office Supervisors, Office Business Development Manager (if assigned), Office Business Sector/Division Leaders.

Position requirements:

Driven to proactively improve day‑to‑day operations, production, services, quality, and efficiencies of the office. Client‑service and staff‑oriented. Continuously seeks operational and financial improvements.

Summary of duties and responsibilities:

Improve the office’s performance and long‑term sustainability; maintain profitability and success.

Oversee, monitor staffing, resources, business development, opportunities and report on office operations.

Identify and resolve operational and performance deficiencies.

Assist other offices with cross‑office work sharing and resources.

Anticipate and track staffing needs and identify peaks and valleys.

Enforce product standards and procedures, e.g., drawings, CAD, plans, reports, QA/QC, policies, time sheets, accounting.

Assist Project Managers/Supervisors in staffing, resources and project needs.

Support Project Managers on budget responsibilities, invoicing, and staff management.

Promote, support and monitor effective project management practices and training.

Establish PM expectations of project performance, deadlines, coordination, WIP/AR, profitability and client satisfaction.

Set consistent expectations and responsibilities for all Project Managers.

Develop and implement office business and market plans and budgets.

Set and monitor individual performance goals.

Liaise between corporate and office staff to facilitate communication.

Grow and expand transportation services and clients in the state.

Lead and manage activities and personnel on specific projects.

Prepare or oversee detailed engineering analyses, schedules, technical reports and more.

Interface with CAD designers, engineers and subcontractors.

Supervise and manage administrative staff in the office.

Support, encourage and troubleshoot intra‑office relationships and cooperation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering, Bioproducts and Biosystem Engineering, or related field.

Professional Engineer license in the applicable state.

Ten or more years of professional experience, with a minimum of three years in a management/office manager or similar role.

Preferred: 8+ years in design and construction of state DOT and county highway projects.

Exceptional team leadership, coordination, and support skills.

Track record of meeting or exceeding annual personal performance goals.

Track record of successful staff integration and team building at multiple management levels.

Excellent communication skills with internal and external groups.

Ability to research, analyze, and present office and individual financial performance measures.

Open to permanent U.S. work authorization without sponsorship.
