Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Manager Job purpose:

The Senior QA Manager is a key member of the leadership team at the Webster, NY plant. Reporting to the corporate Quality Director, the Senior QA Manager coordinates and administers day-to-day quality/food safety program activities for the Webster production facility. This role provides QA support to the organization, develops and implements QA programs and policies, and acts as the primary liaison for QA activities. The Senior QA Manager oversees laboratory testing programs, manages costs against operating budgets, and develops internal QA procedures in accordance with company policy. Responsibilities

Oversee and administer the quality systems for the Webster facility, including daily management of the laboratory and QA staff; provide expert guidance on QA compliance. Consult, lead, and ensure quality control in the interpretation and documentation of QA systems and policies; develop and implement internal protocols in line with regulations and company policies. Investigate quality issues and provide guidance to management on product quality concerns. Design and implement quality programs within the framework of the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI); monitor program efficiency, develop reporting procedures, and drive continuous improvement; ensure sustained GFSI compliance in areas including HACCP, Internal Audit, CAPA, Management Review, PRPs, and Document Control. Provide day-to-day guidance to management on quality practices and policies; develop written departmental procedures for QA and documentation. Oversee development and coordination of food safety programs to maintain regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal agencies. Coordinate food safety system programs to align with product specifications and minimize losses. Set and monitor short- and long-range goals, policies, and procedures; evaluate program effectiveness and drive continuous quality improvements. Ensure contractor GMP and HACCP compliance by coordinating with contractors and plant personnel. Conduct training needs analyses and implement training programs for management, staff, and operators; conduct new employee orientation for GMP, HACCP, and QA systems. Manage QA staff workload, performance, and development; participate in recruitment as appropriate. Develop annual operating budgets and provide fiscal direction to QA. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. Qualifications and skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Dairy, Food Science, or related discipline required. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience. Certification in HACCP, PCQI/FSMA, Internal Audit, and Better Process Control School. Strong organizational, prioritization, and confidential information handling skills. Knowledge of FDA and state/federal regulations for a dairy facility. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with diverse stakeholders. Ability to make decisions on sensitive issues; experience with training needs assessment and staff development. Experience with QA systems, computer-based QA tools, budgeting, and performance management. Knowledge of environmental laws and standards; ability to deliver presentations and manage budgets. Food safety requirements

Report repairs or adjustments that may affect product quality or food safety. Observe color-coded container policy in Production Areas; comply with Company, Customer, and Government requirements for food safety. Initiate actions to prevent nonconformities related to food safety and product quality; identify and document problems; control nonconforming products. Exempt Compensation and benefits
