Overview & Responsibilities
The Project Manager II will assist and train Level I Project Managers and work independently to process all phases of shop repair projects. The complexity of the projects will range from simple single-stage industrial type equipment to multi-stage engineered apparatus. This position will develop quotations, create production work scopes, process and coordinate material ordering and subcontract requirements. Most projects managed by Project Manager Level II will range from $5,000 to $1,000,000 in value.
The nature of this position is a continuous process of developing a systematic way of planning, implementing, managing, and analyzing repair orders. Many project activities, although covered by Elliott policy and procedure, bring something different and challenging. Communication with customers, both internal and external, is paramount. Selling of shop services is a daily function of this position.
Specific Job Responsibilities / Competencies
Obtain required data to properly prepare repair quotations, including required scope, cost, pricing, lead-times, available resources, etc.
Ensure that once quotation becomes an order, the job is implemented properly. This includes placing correct parts orders, writing accurate and detailed work scopes, and making sure all other required resources are available throughout job duration.
Help to promote future business opportunities through customer satisfaction with all phases of their experience with Elliott.
Properly analyze inspection reports in order that correct actions are taken. This should lead to orders that enable us to reach established profit goals and create customer satisfaction.
Maintain communications on all orders, including formal written communications, scheduling and directing customer meetings, holding review meetings with shop personnel regarding order status, and maintaining communication with sales and management.
Project management and engineering. Projects will range from simple single-stage industrial equipment to complex multi-stage engineered apparatus.
Order maintenance, including acknowledgment letters, accounting interface, maintaining job folders, closing out jobs, preparing information for invoicing and filing.
Process and issue final reports to customers.

Experience in customer relations and sales.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Self-motivated with the ability to handle difficult situations and demanding deadlines.
Ability to get along with others. There is a lot of interaction with customers of varying backgrounds and Elliott employees within many different departments. The ability to develop and grow these relationships can greatly improve the effectiveness of the person in this position.
Knowledge of internal departments, such as engineering, parts, shipping, technical services, and manufacturing can prove extremely helpful.
A willingness to learn and to teach others.
Organization and time management skills are essential.
Background and Experience
Project Manager Level II requires a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in turbomachinery repair techniques and processes.
A technical or business degree, or equivalent experience is required.
A thorough knowledge of Elliott equipment is required. Must have completed Elliott product training.
Experience with or knowledge of welding and machining technology is required. As this position is a mixture of both technical and commercial functions, a broad background is valuable.
