You’ll select tooling, set up a manual lathe or vertical mill, and machine turbine and compressor components to extremely tight tolerances. Throughout the shift, you’ll inspect dimensions with micrometers and indicators, record your findings, and keep production moving while staying laser-focused on safety and quality.

What you’ll handle:

Perform complex setups and manual machining operations: turning, boring, facing, milling, drilling, reaming, tapping, sawing, slotting, grooving, and grinding.

Lay out and plan machining work from engineering drawings, sketches, work scopes, or verbal instructions with limited supervision.

Hold exceptionally close tolerances and verify results using micrometers, indicators, calipers, gauges, and related metrology tools.

Promote safety and quality in every task; maintain a clean, organized work area.

Interact professionally with internal partners and customers; communicate clearly about job status and needs.

Complete basic preventive maintenance; complete troubleshooting and repair tasks as needed.

Document work by completing production and quality logs; support seamless cross-shift handoffs by recording actions, irregularities, and ongoing requirements.

Train others on equipment operation, print reading, tooling selection, machining methods, and repair processes.

Complete and record dimensional inspections accurately and pass annual dimensional inspection tests.
