Position Summary This advanced position is responsible for assisting the QA Team in meeting customer demands and ensuring NPAA remains the market leader in automotive coatings. The specialist utilizes well‑developed knowledge of quality management system compliance to ISO/IATF requirements. The role manages calibration, GR&R, QMS documents, internal audits across all NPAA sites, supplier and customer audits, ISO/IATF audits, and leads compliance and quality improvement projects.
Position Responsibilities
Ensures NPAA’s processes and products are compliant with IATF16949 / ISO9001 Quality standards at the responsible site.
Upgrades and implements the Quality Management System, drafts procedures, revises SOPs, and trains employees on new system requirements.
Maintains and organizes NPAA’s internal quality audit program and external audits with customers and third‑party certification and regulatory bodies, including:
Schedules internal audits.
Schedules audits with registrars.
Conducts sample audits.
Reports audit findings and assists with corrective actions.
Trains internal auditors on NPAA Quality Systems.
Manages corrective and preventive action plans.
Works with Purchasing and other groups to support supplier audits.
Completes self‑assessment and audit surveys from customers.
Assists with customer‑requested audits and special audits at the responsible site.
Assists with other corporate and plant audits when requested.
Manages compliance projects at the site with help from other members or groups, including:
NPAA calibration activities and records.
Document control system.
MSA evaluations on NPAA inspection methods.
FMEA, APQP, and PPAP activities.
Participates in Quality Improvement Teams as a representative of the Quality department.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Monthly Report Explained
Audit findings – corrective actions.
Audit schedule – IATF16949 / ISO9001.
Formal audit report.
Position Qualifications
College degree in a science‑related field.
8+ years of applicable experience.
Ability to handle paints and chemicals, including isocyanates, using required PPE.
Desire to learn and improve.
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Basic computer skills (advanced office/Word/Excel preferred).
Experience with ISO9001 Quality Management System preferred.
Lean Six Sigma knowledge.
Salary Range $63,169.60 to $96,220.80. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and skill set.
Additional Competencies
Able and available to travel up to 25% of the time.
Utilizes computer software to manage experimental data and complete basic job functions.
Follows internal procedures regarding 5S, safety, compliance, etc.
Meets strict deadlines.
Works independently with minimal supervision.
Wears respirator/all necessary PPE, including being clean shaven for respirator use.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships; demonstrates teamwork commitment.
Maintains strong attention to detail.
Works in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
Works overtime as needed.
Analyzes experiment results or statistical data.
Conducts work/experiments in a lab.
