The Staff Purchaser performs purchasing responsibilities throughout the project life cycle, which includes ordering materials, supplies, and equipment, and following through with vendors on shipment and delivery. Key Responsibilities: Prepare procurement documents and agreements
Perform commercial bid evaluations and coordinate technical evaluations
Enter purchase order information into the online purchasing system
Expedite supplier submittals to support design and construction
Prepare front-end documents, including prime agreement flow-downs
Source and qualify potential suppliers
Communicate and resolve procurement issues with stakeholders
Compile procurement and expediting status reports
Prepare RFPs and related documentation
Receive, analyze, and recommend supplier proposals
Update procurement status and material records
Comply with all company policies and standards
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Law, or a Construction-related field, and 3 years of direct purchasing experience (required)
Applicable experience may substitute for the degree requirement
Preferred: Project purchasing experience
Preferred: Oracle Financial R12 experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
Preferred: CPM or CPSM Certification
Additional Information
Travel: ~25% to Rhode Island, with potential future travel to Pennsylvania or Kentucky based on program needs
Preferred Location: Wallingford, CT
Less Preferred Location: Newton, MA
