Business Development Executive, Commercial Construction Solutions Our client, a prominent player in the architectural hardware and construction supply industry, is seeking a driven Business Development Executive to support their fast-growing Division 8 (commercial doors and hardware) segment. This role blends technical knowledge with hands-on relationship-building across new build commercial projects, with a focus on mixed-use retail and standalone retail developments. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a solutions-driven mindset who thrives in dynamic client-facing environments and is excited to play a key role in expanding regional market share. Note:
Candidates must live within 75 miles of the Auburn, IN region or be open to relocation. This Role Offers: Competitive base salary depending on experience, plus commission based on gross margin (post-draw). Full benefits package including healthcare and PTO. Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) with annual share allocations. Opportunities for long-term growth, advancement, and industry training. Focus: Serve as the primary point of contact for developers and general contractors on commercial construction projects. Manage a mixed workload of estimating and field sales activities (roughly 50/50 split). Attend construction site meetings, collect field measurements, and gather specifications to develop detailed estimates. Generate proposals and communicate bid information effectively to internal teams and external clients. Drive product recommendations and consult on hardware and materials, ensuring alignment with code compliance and client expectations. Foster long-term client relationships through strategic account management and ongoing engagement. Track project bids, lead follow-ups, and manage sales funnel activity in alignment with team goals. Collaborate with internal teams to refine pricing strategy and secure manufacturer quotes that optimize margin. Attend department meetings and contribute to team-wide strategic planning initiatives. Provide input on new product offerings, client pain points, and construction industry trends. Skill Set: Bachelor’s degree in a business, construction, or engineering-related field preferred, but not required. Experience with ERP tools like Comsense is a plus. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally to job sites. Proven experience in B2B sales within the construction or building materials industry preferred. Familiarity with Division 8 materials (commercial doors, frames, and hardware) is strongly preferred. Capable of reading blueprints and understanding architectural specifications. Must be a confident communicator, adept in face-to-face meetings and capable of developing rapport quickly with project managers and decision-makers. Previous experience in estimating or willingness to learn estimating tools and methods. Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Comfortable working independently while being a collaborative team player.
