Overview
We are seeking a
Designer I
to support field and office-based utility design projects. The Designer will collaborate with customers, project managers, and internal teams to design, coordinate, and deliver projects that support energy and infrastructure operations. This position offers a balance of
fieldwork and office design , with opportunities to interact directly with customers and contribute to meaningful projects that impact local communities. Base pay range
$20.00/hr - $23.00/hr Key Responsibilities
Manage assigned projects from initiation to completion. Communicate with internal and external customers to gather project details and requirements. Conduct site visits to collect field data and verify design needs. Prepare and revise project designs, layouts, and related documentation using company tools and software. Obtain necessary design approvals and coordinate with construction or implementation teams. Ensure all designs comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Maintain accurate project documentation and communication throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and customer service teams. Required Qualifications
Proficiency with
Microsoft Office Suite
(Excel, Word, Outlook). Valid Driver’s License
and ability to travel for site visits. Technology savvy
and comfortable learning new design or mapping tools. Strong
customer service
and
communication
skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with
GIS (Geographic Information Systems)
or
AutoCAD . Understanding of
project management
processes. Familiarity with
utility ,
energy , or
construction design
environments. Seniority level
