Driver’s License This role requires a valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, as operating a company vehicle is essential.
Work Hours The position may include days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Purpose Operate, maintain, and repair HVAC, chilled water systems, air handlers, boilers, heat exchangers, VAV, FCU, refrigeration equipment, and related components.
Success Criteria
Develop own skill base, improve performance, and ensure ongoing self‑improvement.
Participate in development opportunities within the group.
Key Areas of Collaboration and Influence
Support the team and report to the Facility Manager.
Communicate effectively with colleagues and participate in project groups and meetings as required.
Ideal Candidate Experience
Standard HVAC and refrigeration trade practices and theory.
Knowledge of building codes, ordinances, and regulations.
Experience with air compressors, pneumatic controls, cooling tower, boiler water treatment.
Proficiency with manual and electrical tools, welding, soldering techniques.
Health and safety regulations compliance.
High school diploma or G.E.D.; two years of documented HVAC/journeyman‑level experience.
Universal EPA certification (required).
Key Accountabilities
Inspect, repair, modify, install HVAC equipment including refrigeration compressors, condensers, chillers, water towers, pumps, valves, and safety valves.
Conduct preventive maintenance on refrigeration units, boilers, and air‑conditioning equipment.
Perform repairs on controls, motors, belts, compressors, heat exchangers, safety valves, and related components.
Operate hand and power tools, welder torch, vacuum pump, test equipment, and maintain vehicle and equipment.
Rebuild compressors and perform electrical maintenance on HVAC components.
Test boiler operation, water quality, combustion adjustments, and lubrication of motors, pumps, and fans.
Install, calibrate, replace, and repair fans, motors, thermostats, fuses, filters, and control equipment.
Maintain records of time, labor, materials, and refrigerant usage; produce reports as required.
Perform all additional duties as assigned.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Lift, push, or carry up to 40 lbs.
Stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl regularly.
Maintain good vision and ability to focus.
Work under pressure and meet deadlines during peak periods.
Participate in on‑call rotation schedule.
