We are currently seeking a
Document Control Coordinator
at our
Fort Pierce, FL
production facility. This position plays a key role in supporting the Quality Assurance (QA) team by maintaining and verifying documentation related to food safety, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.

Summary Of Functions The Document Control Coordinator is responsible for managing the facility’s document control processes to ensure all food safety and quality records are accurate, current, and compliant with internal and external standards. This role supports the QA department by collecting and validating daily monitoring documents, maintaining document databases, supporting internal audits, and collaborating across departments to uphold company and regulatory requirements.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
Collect, review, and file food safety and quality records in accordance with established document control procedures.
Maintain and organize both physical and electronic document control systems to ensure accessibility, accuracy, and version control.
Manage the Document Control Center, including document distribution, updates, and archiving of obsolete records.
Track and log document revisions, retrievals, and approvals.
Verify documentation completeness and accuracy, identifying and correcting missing or incorrect information.
Collaborate with departments such as Production, Warehouse, and Maintenance to create and update technical manuals, process flow charts, and project documentation.
Conduct monthly internal food safety audits for assigned departments.
Prepare Certificates of Analysis (COAs) as needed.
Provide backup support for the QC/Microbiology Technician when required.
Support and act as a backup for the Quality Assurance Manager as needed.
Ensure all documentation and processes align with HACCP, SQF, GMP, and other relevant food safety and quality standards.
Food Safety & Regulatory Responsibilities
Comply with all Plant, State, and Federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF requirements.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and company food safety policies.
Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the facility’s Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
Maintain compliance with No GE SGS Supply Chain Standards.
Previous work experience in Quality Control, Document Control, or Microbiology Technician roles.
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a scientific discipline preferred.
Knowledge of HACCP and SQF principles preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Demonstrated adaptability, flexibility, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Physical Demands
Visual acuity required for laboratory work, computer use, and equipment operation.
Frequent standing, walking, and climbing.
Occasional bending, kneeling, reaching, and stooping.
Regular use of hands and fingers for handling materials and instruments.
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 10 lbs. or more for short distances (up to 20 feet).
Ability to work under varying stress conditions.
Work Environment
Work performed in both manufacturing and laboratory settings.
Exposure to humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and moderate noise levels.
Possible exposure to environmental elements such as odors, dust, heat, cold, and chemicals.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) required in designated areas.
