AirSea Packing Group Ltd . AirSea Packing Group, Inc. is looking for an experienced dispatcher/route planner to help drive excellent service. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic professional with a flawless attention to detail, excellent communication skills along with the ability to provide world-class service to our exclusive clientele. You will be responsible for supporting the external operations team to receive safely and efficiently, pick, unpack, assemble, inspect, and stage customer deliveries. You and your team will also be responsible for inventory management including shipping, receiving and in-house product movement. As a leader in our business, you will support our operations managers by developing your team to provide outstanding customer service to our external customers.

Base pay range

$27.00/hr - $30.00/hr

Duties and Responsibilities

Organizing, dispatching, and tracking the truck fleet to ensure all facets of the operation function smoothly and all service requirements are met daily. Coordinate and utilize drivers and trucks; ensure that all trucks are running on time and reporting lateness well in advance to all need-to-know parties. Be alert to requirements for subcontractors within a reasonable timeframe that allows action with minimal cost.

This person will oversee 15+ drivers’ operation.

Essential Functions

Create and maximize capacity by ensuring productive use of all assets, equipment, and drivers. Ensure maximum productivity by achieving or exceeding company-established goals by successfully routing vehicles. Assign loads to drivers based on designated routes and driver location. Prepare, update, and dispense the daily route schedule. Gather and maintain route sheet documentation for picks-ups (scheduled, missed, extra pick-ups) route completions and driver locations. Ensure route completion via the driver check-in process. Courteously interact with customers, as required. Report driver performance issues or concerns to appropriate management for resolution. Follow all required safety policies and procedures. Report all accidents/incidents to management. Ensure proper paperwork completion from fleet crew. Collect, check, and file fuel reports. Coordinate truck maintenance schedules with shop personnel. Monitor road restrictions, weather, and traffic conditions. Assist customers, drivers, and company personnel to resolve problems. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Geographic knowledge of NY, NJ, PA & New England, and the Northeast in general is a must. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced & high-volume shipping office a must. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Excellent computer skills required with ability to learn new program. Ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience in dedicated or LTL trucking. Transportation and shipping experience, including dispatch and routing. Must have strong attention to detail, professional communication, and customer service skills. Heavy DOT/regulatory compliance element. Must come across as a highly polished professional and be able to interface regularly with high-profile customers. Degree preferred, but equivalent and related work experience in lieu Analytical, critical thinking skills and attention to detail are required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, climb and pull. Ability to perform strenuous physical labor on a regular basis.
