Quality Control Auditor - Mortgage Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned
Quality Control Auditor
to conduct post-closing and targeted loan file reviews in strict alignment with our written Quality Control Plan. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in
residential mortgage quality control auditing , particularly within the
non-delegated correspondent lending
channel, and possess deep expertise in current
regulatory, investor, and agency guidelines . Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive post-closing and targeted loan audits. Ensure compliance with internal Quality Control Plan and external regulatory standards. Apply audit sampling methodologies including random, targeted, and full reviews (e.g., EPDs, suspected fraud). Prepare defect rate analyses and communicate findings with corrective action recommendations. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve audit findings and improve processes. Maintain thorough documentation and reporting for audit activities. Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience:
3-5 years in mortgage quality control auditing, with a focus on non-delegated correspondent lending or brokered originations. Regulatory Knowledge:
Strong understanding of investor and agency guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA). Compliance Expertise:
In-depth knowledge of:
TRID TILA/RESPA ECOA/Fair Lending FHA SFH Handbook 4000.1 ATR/QM (Ability to Repay/Qualified Mortgage)
Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with mortgage LOS systems and audit/review tools. Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Work Style:
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently under tight deadlines. Additional:
Experience with branch audits and/or remote site inspections is a plus. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000/yr.
