Job Summary As the Maintenance Manager, you are responsible for day-to-day operations of mechanical and electrical systems, general maintenance, and Preventive Maintenance Programs. You will provide world-class customer service and manage building management. You will oversee maintenance projects to ensure timely completion and favorable financial outcomes in a team environment that includes the Owner, general contractors, sub-contractors, Owner’s personnel, project inspectors, and other team members. You will ensure Owner satisfaction and the overall success of assigned projects. You will plan, schedule, and oversee work requests, building repairs, and preventive maintenance for all buildings. The role requires energy, enthusiasm, and a proven ability to engage a diverse client base and staff, with the aim of developing high-performance work teams.

Key Responsibilities

Managing the performance of vendors to ensure the highest quality of service and value.

Ensuring a safe and comfortable living and working space for students and staff in compliance with codes and university requirements.

Coordinating all building shut-downs and integrated facility component testing campus-wide.

Managing trades departments including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, utilities, carpentry, and painting services.

Formulating and assisting in management of annual operating and long-range facility maintenance budgets, ensuring expenditures align with SSC priorities and high-quality services.

Monitoring and controlling expenditures.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of training and work experience.

At least five years of experience managing in a maintenance environment.

Valid Class “C” driver’s license.

Interpersonal skills to interact effectively and courteously with administrators, faculty, staff, vendors, and others.

Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform under pressure in internal and client-facing contexts.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Knowledge of building automation and mechanical systems.
