Overview
Reporting to the Supervisor, Pool Services, the Pool Service Specialist creates authentic and memorable experiences for every guest at the pool and spa. Responsibilities include providing towels and amenities, assisting guests with equipment and pool facilities, and possessing strong knowledge of food and beverage menu items available to guests. The role supports efficient operations, protects enterprise assets, and upholds departmental standards in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven environment. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Welcome guests at the pool check-in station and deliver best-in-class guest service. Pool services include providing water, towels, spritzing, assisting with equipment use, pool facilities, and guest lockers. Provide accurate information to guests in a courteous manner; fulfill reasonable guest requests and anticipate needs around the pool deck. Performs and records retail transactions (cash, credit card, earned rewards, and comps) through the point-of-sale system. Maintain a balanced cash drawer with minimal variances. Remove soiled towels and reset presentation with clean towels, upholding high safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards. Perform day-to-day tasks such as dusting, cleaning, organizing, and maintaining merchandise presentation at the pool kiosk; complete pool area walk-throughs to ensure cleanliness and compliance with policies. Assist Facilities with setup and breakdown of chairs and towel replenishment; assist pool servers with food running and bussing as needed. Model and uphold enterprise and department policies, standard operating procedures, product receiving, fulfillment, and training/certification requirements. Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient department operations. Educational, Experience And Qualifications
High School diploma or GED is required. Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience is required. Previous experience in a spa, resort, or pool environment is preferred. Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather and seasonal temperatures. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSA)
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to guest satisfaction. Ability to provide genuine, friendly, and professional service. Discretion with confidential information, including personal or health information from guests. Strong one-on-one communication skills for optimal guest service. Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management, both verbally and in writing. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. Working knowledge of spa services and products is preferred. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and goals. Comfort working in both spa/pool and casino environments. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor under challenging situations. Willingness to assist team members with daily operations to support pool services. Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. Required Licenses, Certifications And Registrations
May be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license, at the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission. CPR/AED certification is required or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment. Driving responsibilities: specify whether driver’s license and insurance are required. Primary work environment is a climate-controlled office setting; travel to meetings, trade shows, and conferences may be required. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally; continuous standing, walking, and intermittent kneeling, bending, and reaching as part of essential duties.
