Sr Compliance Analyst
supports the RWE Clean Energy (RWECE) Internal Compliance Program established to maintain compliance with mandatory North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Operations and Planning (O&P) Standards and applicable Independent System Operator (ISO) and Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) requirements for wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems. Role Responsibilities
Assists in the development, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the RWECE NERC O&P compliance program including the development and maintenance of associated program requirements (e.g., policies, processes, procedures, and guidance). Maintains knowledge of the NERC Reliability Standards and regional standards that apply to Generator Owners and Generator Operators, as well as applicable ISO requirements. Assists with compliance to applicable FERC Orders, NERC Reliability Standards, ISO/RTO market rules, and other compliance requirements through research, data/evidence collection, analysis, and compliance submissions to the appropriate reliability entities. Collects, reviews, organizes, and preserves evidence of compliance with the NERC O&P Standards and Requirements in coordination with internal departments to support regulatory requests and audits. Provides support to internal departments responsible for adherence to compliance requirements including the development and delivery of training and the dissemination of compliance guidance and industry best practices. Maintains understanding of NERC compliance monitoring and enforcement processes. Performs investigative analysis for potential non-compliance and assists with the development and submission of self-reports and mitigation plans to NERC. Performs with periodic internal compliance assessments and spot-checks on applicable NERC O&P Standards. Assists in gathering data for and developing responses to regulatory compliance requests, self-certifications, enforcement actions, data requests, and audit requests, including the submission of responses. Assists in the tracking of new and revised NERC O&P Standards and with Compliance Impact Assessments. Identifies areas for improvement in the NERC O&P compliance program. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements and Experiences
Bachelor’s degree preferred A minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory, legal or a compliance related field. NERC compliance or renewable power generation experience preferred Direct work experience that provides specialized knowledge in NERC compliance or other regulatory environment applicable to electric power industry or relevant professional certifications may be allowed as substitution for a college degree. A minimum of 5 years relevant experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree for the mid-level analyst role Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage stakeholder, industry peer, and regulator relationships Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Teams, and SharePoint Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concept Benefits
