About The Role
Extraco Banks is seeking a highly skilled Senior BI Analyst to join our team as a technical and analytical lead. In this role, you will design advanced reporting solutions and provide deep-dive data analysis that informs strategic decisions across the organization. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise, the ability to execute projects independently, and a solid understanding of banking metrics and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Configure and customize BI platforms to meet business needs, including workflows, queries, dashboards, reports, and user roles
Participate in discovery meetings to understand user requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
Collaborate closely with vendors to refine data pipelines, optimize queries, and ensure seamless system integration
Analytics and Reporting
Lead the design and automation of high-impact dashboards and reports for executive leadership, Board reporting, and internal stakeholders
Provide in-depth analysis of key trends including portfolio performance, customer profitability, customer retention, and digital engagement
Partner with business leaders to identify reporting gaps and create scalable, reusable BI solutions
Write and optimize SQL queries to retrieve data from core systems and data warehouses
Mentor other company report writers and assist in reviewing their queries and dashboards for accuracy
Data Infrastructure and Governance
Identify and resolve discrepancies in data feeds from internal systems (e.g., core platform, CRM, LOS) and third-party integrations
Assist in developing and leading internal data governance frameworks and protocols
Support the creation of data dictionaries, report definitions, and other foundational data governance tasks
Support data validation efforts to ensure integrity of source data and accuracy of reports
Educate internal users on best practices for data entry, usage, and interpretation to minimize errors and promote a culture of data accountability
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or related field (Master's degree a plus)
3–5 years of analytics or BI experience, preferably in community or regional banking
Advanced SQL proficiency and data visualization skills
Knowledge of DAX or data modeling best practices
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple reporting tasks simultaneously
Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn new technologies
Preferred Qualifications
Solid understanding of banking operations, KPIs, and financial reporting cycles
Experience working with core banking platforms (e.g., Jack Henry)
