The
Project Leader 1 – MEP Construction
is responsible for supporting the overall strategy, execution of deliverables, project completion, and profitable outcomes for highly complex projects or multiple projects simultaneously. This role requires a proficient understanding of prime or general contracting, with experience overseeing disciplines related to Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural systems. Responsibilities
Position Requirements: Experience and understanding of the entire project lifecycle from initiation to completion. Background in MEP Construction Management, Prime Contracting, or Specialty Contracting Solutions. Knowledge of project planning, installation, and completion to ensure success. Experience with engineering and design development, bid-package creation, and estimate review (proficiency in Accubid preferred). Development and tracking of project schedules. Management of project financials and costs. Strong business acumen and leadership skills. Experience in commissioning and testing diverse specialty systems. Position Responsibilities: Project Planning and Scheduling:
Develop plans, timelines, and schedules; allocate resources effectively. Budget Management:
Prepare budgets, monitor expenditures, and maintain financial constraints. Team Coordination and Leadership:
Oversee contractors, engineers, and staff; promote collaboration. Quality Control and Compliance:
Conduct inspections; ensure adherence to codes and safety regulations. Risk Management:
Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and address issues promptly. Client and Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as main contact; provide updates and manage expectations. Procurement and Resource Management:
Oversee procurement; ensure timely delivery. Problem-Solving:
Handle challenges; adapt plans to maintain progress. Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain records; prepare reports for stakeholders. Safety Management:
Enforce safety protocols on-site. Qualifications
Education:
BS in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics with 7+ years experience or 5+ years with MS in Engineering. Requirements: Supervise Construction Project Managers and perform PM duties. Extensive project management experience managing multiple teams and projects. Experience with engineering firms, clients, and general contractors. Proven track record of successful projects involving multi-discipline knowledge.
