Overview The
Project Leader 1
- MEP Construction supports strategic project execution, delivery, and profitability for highly complex projects or multiple projects simultaneously. The role requires a strong understanding of prime or general contracting, with experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural systems preferred.
Responsibilities Position Requirements:
Experience and understanding of the entire project lifecycle from initiation to completion.
Background in MEP Construction Management, Prime Contracting, or Specialty Contracting Solutions.
Knowledge of project planning, installation, and successful project completion, including:
Engineering and Design Development
Bid-Package creation and estimate review (Proficiency in Accubid preferred)
Project Schedule development & tracking
Financial management and cost tracking
Leadership and business acumen
Experience with commissioning and testing specialty systems
Position Responsibilities: As a Project Manager, you will ensure efficient, safe, and successful project execution. Key responsibilities include:
Developing project plans, schedules, and resource allocation
Managing budgets and expenditures
Leading teams of contractors, engineers, and staff
Maintaining quality control and ensuring compliance with standards
Identifying and mitigating risks
Communicating with clients and stakeholders
Overseeing procurement and resource delivery
Handling unexpected challenges and adapting plans
Maintaining accurate project documentation and reports
Implementing safety protocols
Qualifications
Minimum 7+ years in MEP construction, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural)
5+ years of related MEP construction experience, with a Master’s Degree preferred
Experience managing relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and vendors
Extensive knowledge of MEP disciplines for critical, government, and commercial projects
Experience managing projects valued between $20M - $100M+
Proficiency with software such as Bluebeam, Accubid, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6
Additional Requirements
Security clearance eligibility, including U.S. Citizenship
Preferred certifications: PMP, experience with Modular Fabrication, Primavera P6
Abilities
Ability to work with extended computer screen exposure
Sitting and reaching for extended periods
Finger dexterity for tasks like keyboard use
Effective listening, speaking, reading, and problem-solving skills
