The Sponsor M&A Group is a key team within M&A at Goldman Sachs, focused on covering financial sponsor clients and their portfolio companies. We cover clients across all industries and provide M&A, financing and other corporate finance solutions utilizing dedicated resources. The group has built a leading Secondary Advisory business that provides strategic advice to sponsor clients on GP‑led secondary transactions, including Single and Multi‑Asset Continuation Funds, Strip Sales, Tender Offers, and other related structures. The Secondary Advisory business is fully integrated within M&A and Sponsor/Industry Coverage, enabling us to provide differentiated insight and service.

Roles and Responsibilities

Work with senior professionals to execute secondary transactions during all phases of the deal process.

Prepare presentation materials for prospective clients.

Conduct due diligence of prospective transactions through financial and industry analyses.

Assist in the preparation of transaction marketing materials (financial models, investor presentations, confidential information memorandums, process letters).

Assist with the logistics of the capital raising and investor due diligence processes (online data room, meetings/calls, investor requests and feedback).

Maintain information databases and track market data.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

History of outstanding academic achievement.

Effective presentation, communication and writing skills.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi‑task.

Highly collaborative and motivated to work as part of a team.

Strong quantitative and analytical background; experience in modeling and valuation techniques (a plus).

Demonstrated interest in private equity and other alternative investment strategies.

Salary Range The expected base salary for this New York, New York position is $110,000–$125,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
