Project Manager – BE&K Building Group
Join as the Project Manager for BE&K Building Group, a leader in construction and project delivery.
General Description The Project Manager leads and manages the project, overseeing all aspects of project execution, client and design team liaison, subcontractor coordination, and project budgeting and cost control.
Primary Areas of Responsibility
Project budget and cost control
Project schedule and critical path management
Project safety, quality and compliance
Contract management and change order control
Client relations and communication
Subcontractor management and vendor procurement
Document control and communication management
Business development and client relationship enhancement
Staff training, development and performance management
Key Responsibilities
Review and assist with project budget and cost coding in JDE.
Evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids; conduct procurement and pre‑construction meetings.
Prepare scopes of work, issues agreements, and ensure subcontractors understand scopes.
Conduct pre‑construction and safety compliance meetings with the Superintendent.
Develop a rolling punch list and coordinate punch list completion to achieve zero‑punch at project close.
Oversee construction of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, ensuring GMP and FDA compliance.
Coordinate with engineering teams for specialized API production equipment integration.
Maintain project schedule, update monthly, and monitor critical path activities.
Establish and manage the project document control system and RFI process.
Communicate project status via letters, emails, minutes, and reports.
Attend weekly subcontractor meetings and document minutes.
Approve vendor and subcontractor billings and prepare monthly owner billing.
Monitor labor, material, and equipment costs and prepare monthly status reports.
Review site safety program compliance with the Superintendent.
Develop client relationships, participate in business development, and prepare proposals.
Lead professional development of subordinates and perform performance evaluations.
Perform all required close‑out documentation.
Education and Experience
BS/BA in engineering, architecture, or construction management.
Minimum five (5) years of construction industry experience, with at least two (2) years in the Assistant Project Manager role.
Experience managing projects up to $5M to $20M in budget.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Strong understanding of Superintendent and Senior Project Manager duties.
Proficiency with JDE and profit forecasting tools.
Planning, scheduling, and cost control expertise.
Leadership and conflict resolution skills.
Negotiation techniques and workforce diversity management.
Physical Requirements
Climbing, lifting, and walking to handle materials.
Ability to work in extreme heat or cold and stand/walk for extended periods.
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
