Job Description:
The Transportation Engineer, PE will collaborate with other transportation team members, land surveyors, environmental engineers, construction engineer inspectors, and landscape architects to assist clients in developing transportation-related projects. This role will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of transportation projects with private and public clients throughout the state and southeast.
Responsibilities:
Execute transportation design plans, studies, and analyses through project software
Perform horizontal and vertical geometric design
Design stormwater/erosion prevention and sediment control/traffic control systems
Direct and train junior staff
Support project managers in meeting project goals and providing quality deliverables
Perform additional related duties as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
4-6+ years of engineering experience, with recent experience in transportation design preferred
Tennessee PE license or EI Registration
Understanding of roadway design guidance from AASHTO
Knowledge of TDOT guidelines, procedures, and plan preparation
Experience in the development of roadway plans and specifications along with local municipalities and permitting agencies
Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, OpenRoads, or AutoCAD Civil 3D
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
