This type of appointment is not approved to work more than 999 hours per year for all positions combined. Should incumbents work more than a total of 999 hours in a year the appointment may not continue beyond one year of service. Accountabilities
For the fall semester, we have openings for play-by-play announcers for ESPN+ livestream broadcasts. This is a really exciting opportunity to assist Colgate Athletic Communications staff at assigned home varsity athletic events as well as with remote project work. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Writing press releases, event recaps, and other website content. Live tweeting events. Creating social and promotional graphics. Assisting with the production for the ESPN+ livestream broadcast. Delivering play-by-play or color commentary on the broadcast. Keeping statistics. Operating a video camera. Updating rosters and bios on the website. Organizing photos. This is an opportunity to learn new skills in a fun, fast-paced environment. Former student employees in Colgate’s athletics marketing and communications office have gone on to secure full-time employment at prestigious organizations such as the NCAA, Syracuse University, and various minor-league professional sports teams. Professional Experience/Qualifications:
Attention to detail is highly valued and required. Preferred Qualifications: Education:
High school diploma or GED. This posting was created to recruit part-time staff who work games throughout the year. We typically host between 150-200 home events each year. This includes a wide range of gameday roles, such as broadcasters, camera operators, stats inputters, stats callers, livestream producers, etc. Positions are filled on an as-needed basis.
