Duties and Responsibilities Specific tasks include rapidly identifying and counting small insects under a stereo microscope, assisting with insect colonies, planting seeds/seedlings, and other duties related to entomological research. When samples (frozen or in alcohol) are collected and stored, they will be processed on a scheduled weekly basis. Colonies and plants that maintain these colonies need to be checked twice weekly. Other duties will be determined in a weekly lab meeting.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies Will be on-time for the assigned times of work.
Physical Demands Looking through the stereo microscope for hours at a time to do the insect counts. Lifting soil tubs and standard potting trays with full pots. Driving.
