Qualifications
U.S. Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering or related field.
Two years of experience as a VDC Manager or related occupation in managing BIM/VDC technology and processes for preconstruction and construction phases of multimillion‑dollar residential and commercial projects.
Experience developing BIM execution plan and project‑specific VDC implementation strategy.
Strong skills in model‑based design, constructability reviews, clash detection and visualization.
Background check and drug test required.
Job Duties Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) technology for preconstruction and construction phases of large‑scale multimillion‑dollar projects. Prepare construction plans and baseline schedules using BIM and VDC planning tools, project management and resource planning software. Manage BIM content development, maintenance procedures and approvals to ensure consistency and compliance with project standards. Conduct model‑based civil engineering analysis—including quantity take‑offs, clash detection, structural feasibility assessments, and 4D scheduling—to optimize project timelines and resource allocation. Coordinate and oversee development and maintenance of 3D models and clash detection processes, ensuring seamless integration of structural, geotechnical, and mechanical systems. Collaborate with design teams and trade contractors to update models, ensuring they are current, clash‑free, and compliant with design specifications, codes, and safety regulations. Develop and maintain federated models to improve construction efficiency and mitigate risks through interdisciplinary coordination. Prepare engineering reports and project status updates related to BIM/VDC metrics. Oversee model management to maintain As‑Built accuracy for final project turnover. Implement augmented reality tools to verify structural integrity and construction quality.
