Overview
Senior Resident Project Representative (Water & Wastewater Treatment Facilities) role at GHD. The Southeast Water business seeks a skilled and motivated Resident Project Representative (RPR) to join our team based in Bowie, MD or Chantilly, VA. You’ll serve as an on-site representative for medium-to-large-scale water and wastewater treatment facility construction projects—ranging from $2M to over $100M in value—mostly within a 50-mile radius of our Bowie office. You’ll be the primary liaison between GHD, the Owner, and the Contractor, ensuring construction aligns with contract documents. You’ll oversee infrastructure improvements that enhance public health and environmental sustainability.
Responsibilities
Supervise inspection teams on larger projects, lead weekly coordination meetings, review construction materials and submittals, manage third-party testing, and support Owner operations during shutdowns and transitions.
Maintain redline drawings, assist with contract closeout, and participate in system testing and startup.
Utilize GHD’s web-based document management system to keep construction documentation organized and accessible.
Manage contract service providers and work within contract management plans.
Deliver small- to medium-scale projects within an established program management plan.
Work within knowledge management systems to deliver outcomes for an area of responsibility.
Define and deliver services that meet customer needs by selecting appropriate approaches.
Follow established procedures to achieve goals and identify improvements.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED; degrees, certifications, and other trainings are a plus.
10+ years of experience in general contracting, construction inspection and/or construction management, focusing on water and wastewater treatment facility projects.
Familiar with MDE and/or DEQ Standards and Specification for Soil Erosion & Sediment Control; experience with soils compaction and cast-in-place concrete testing.
Familiarity with electrical systems and process controls in water/wastewater facilities.
Experience overseeing construction of multiple trades (civil, structural, architectural, HVAC, plumbing, process mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls).
Familiar with construction means and methods for pipeline identification, tracing, pressure testing, and installation procedures.
Experience coordinating with multiple subcontractors and communicating with clients, owners and contractors.
Experience with construction management software (Procore a plus).
Familiarity with Davis-Bacon and Buy-American requirements as applicable.
Ability to work within a team of inspectors or engineers on larger projects.
Compensation Salary range: $45.00-$55.00/hour based on experience.
