Summary We are in search of an expert metrologist who excels in handling advanced metrology assignments. The ideal candidate should be adept at driving and managing complex tasks that require innovative development or enhancement of existing processes or methodologies. Primary Responsibilities Driving the operation and programming of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), both manual and Direct Computer Control (DCC) using CMM Manager. Experience with programming Vision Systems is highly desirable. Spearheading correlation studies and Gauge Repeatability & Reproducibility (Gauge R&R). Delivering concise and actionable feedback on nonconformities via the Non-Conforming Material Reports system. Secondary Responsibilities: Advocating for Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Driving and contributing to continuous improvement projects. Supervising and performing a variety of inspections, from straightforward to intricate ones. Responding to and managing supplier correlation inquiries/activities. General Tasks Participate in Lean Mfg. Activities. Participate in Continuous Improvement efforts. Performs simple to complex inspections. Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Capabilities Advanced proficiency in using inspection hand tools, gauges, calipers, and similar equipment. Highly self-driven with the ability to lead and motivate a team. Exceptional communication skills, capable of interfacing effectively with various departments and levels of management. Expert-level knowledge and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Solid familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. In-depth knowledge of machine shop operations is a prerequisite. ASQ certification or a related technical degree is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to function effectively both individually and as part of a team. Travel Requirements Travel is rare. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
