Project Surveyor – Fisher Associates Fisher Associates, a professional services firm serving the Transportation, Land Development and Energy market sectors, is seeking a Project Surveyor to join our team. In this role, you will ensure our land surveying services are accurate and meet our high standards, bridge the gap between disciplines within project teams, and keep projects running smoothly from start to finish.

Responsibilities

Supervise survey technicians, field crews, and CADD technicians on the project team.

Perform routine and complex survey calculations and control adjustments.

Assign and assist with records research and CADD drafting assignments.

Analyze boundary evidence and parcel/ROW records to determine property boundaries and rights of way.

Document property boundaries, easements, and land ownership details to ensure compliance with legal regulations.

Create detailed topographic maps and surveys to provide essential data for project planning and design.

Maintain positive client relationships and facilitate deliverables to ensure an outstanding customer experience.

Provide QA/QC on survey work completed for all sectors.

Act as a mentor to less experienced team members.

Requirements

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or related field.

Proficiency with surveying software and equipment: AutoCAD, GPS, total stations, and data collectors.

Experience in land surveying and a professional Survey License.

Knowledge of boundary determinations, control adjustments, topographic surveying, NYSDOT Standards, and ALTA requirements.

Strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Ability to work independently and within a fast‑paced team environment.

Salary Range: $83,200 – $91,520 annually.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work.

Occasional travel to project sites across New York.

Access and navigation of construction sites and uneven terrain.

Exposure to dust, noise, grease, smoke, fumes, heat, cold, and inclement weather in field environments.
