Student Transportation Specialist Trainee (Continuous Recruitment)
Position Type: Transportation/ Bus Driver -Trainee

Join the professionals on the Transportation Team. As a team member, you will be an important part of the education process. If you are 21 years of age and have a high school diploma, you can become a bus driver or monitor.
School bus drivers must pass a rigorous background investigation including a SLED check and a DMV records check. They must maintain a commercial driver's license with passenger, air brake, and federal school bus endorsements. Drivers are required to complete 20 hours of classroom instruction and pass a State Department of Education certification test. They also complete many hours of on-the-road training and pass a driving evaluation. Each driver must pass a physical assessment and is subject to random monthly drug screening. To maintain proficiency, drivers attend at least 10 hours of training annually.
