Join the professionals on the Transportation Team. As a team member, you will be an important part of the education process. If you are 21 years of age and have a high school diploma you can become a bus driver or monitor.

Responsibilities

Work as part of the Transportation Team to support student education and safety.

Qualifications

School bus drivers must pass a rigorous background investigation including a SLED check and a DMV records check.

School bus drivers must maintain a commercial driver's license with passenger, air brake and federal school bus endorsements.

Must complete 20 hours of classroom instruction and pass a State Department of Education certification test.

As a part of training, drivers complete many hours of on the road training and pass a rigorous driving evaluation.

Each driver must pass a physical assessment test and is subject to random monthly drug screening.

Annually, drivers attend at least 10 hours of training to maintain proficiency.
