Required Skills & Experience - Proven experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a foundry or heavy manufacturing setting. - Strong electrical knowledge—able to work with relays, timers, and basic control systems. - Skilled in mechanical troubleshooting and repair. - Comfortable using a computer for ordering, inventory, and basic reporting. - Demonstrated leadership ability and strategic thinking. - Familiarity with vendor management and consumables tracking. - Ability to work independently and take ownership of the maintenance function. Job Description Insight Global's client, a leading manufacturer of high-alloy castings, is seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Working Maintenance Manager to lead its maintenance operations. This is a dual-role position that combines strategic oversight with active, shop-floor involvement. The ideal candidate thrives in a small-team environment and is confident in both mechanical and electrical systems. Some responsibilities include: - Lead and perform hands-on maintenance across foundry equipment including induction furnaces, sand mixers, shot blasters, and manual machine shop tools (e.g., lathes). - Manage ordering of parts, consumables, and vendor relationships—including setup and maintenance of vending systems and codes for new hires. - Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems using relays, timers, and basic controls (PLCs and motor drives are handled by external consultants). - Develop and execute maintenance strategies, preventive schedules, and equipment evaluations. - Serve as the go-to expert for equipment assessments, confidently recommending replacements and upgrades. - Maintain inventory, track spending, and escalate major purchases to leadership. - Supervise one direct report and coordinate daily tasks and priorities.
