Overview IT Operations Windows Engineer – Woodbury, NY onsite 3 days per week. This client is a leading Cable/Internet provider on the East Coast. Some of their competitors are Spectrum, Telecommunication, and Comcast/Xfinity.

Position Overview This position is a key role within the Windows Operations Engineering and Support team. The individual in this role is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex Windows-based server environments. This includes managing Active Directory, group policy, network infrastructure, and virtualization technologies. The position often involves leading projects and providing expert technical guidance on system architecture, optimization, and security best practices within the organization. Candidates should have extensive experience with Windows Server operating systems, PowerShell scripting, and possess strong troubleshooting skills.

Position Responsibilities

Lead and support technical projects, ensuring optimal system performance and accessibility.

Analyze existing systems, recommend improvements, and implement solutions.

Act as an escalation point for service desk tickets and coordinate resolutions with Systems and Networking teams.

Train and collaborate with team members.

Develop and enforce system hardening guidelines and maintain documentation.

Manage enterprise infrastructure including, messaging, storage, remote access, and virtualization.

Install and decommission systems in 2 Data Centers

Logical, methodical problem-solver with a forward-thinking approach to system design.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of experience in Windows Systems Engineering or a related technical role.

Strong hands-on experience with:

Windows Server OS (all versions)

VMware (vSphere, ESXi)

Active Directory (AD) and DNS

PowerShell scripting

Experience with enterprise infrastructure (messaging, storage, remote access, virtualization).

Strong troubleshooting skills in complex Windows-based environments.

Working knowledge of networking, security principles, and system compliance standards.

Availability for off-hours and weekend support.

Nice to Have / Desired Qualifications

Experience with:

NetApp, PURE, Nutanix storage systems

Azure SSO and Azure PAAS infrastructure

M365 and Proofpoint administration

Monitoring tools (e.g., Manage Engine AD365 suite)

Backup solutions (e.g., Veeam)

Fiber/NAS storage

DHCP, MS PKI, and public PKI infrastructure

Batch scripting

Knowledge of Immutable Storage technologies.

Certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, or Citrix.

Demonstrated leadership in system architecture, solution design, and lifecycle management.
