Overview
Team Leader role at H&R Block. You’ll provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office. You’ll serve as the front-line manager to lead tax office associates, deliver an outstanding client experience, and achieve office growth objectives. Base pay range:
$15.00/hr - $65.00/hr . Pay range information is posted pursuant to local requirements and may vary by experience, education, skill, performance, and location. Your role and responsibilities
Provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate the seasonal tax business by managing a single HR Block tax office. Lead the front-line management, development, and performance of tax office associates; ensure an outstanding client experience and achievement of office growth objectives. Serve as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates; advance your own knowledge and skills on tax topics as you serve the team. Partner with District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement. Assist in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions; lead daily activities to ensure work is completed on time with quality standards and clear priorities. Schedule associates properly, resolve conflicts, and maintain accurate timekeeping and overtime management. Lead daily team meetings; communicate essential information to tax office associates. Prepare tax returns as required and address client service concerns; ensure escalated issues are resolved promptly. Conduct timely performance reviews and partner with the Associate Relations Center to address performance concerns. Qualifications and expertise
Prior experience in customer service, shift leadership, or a similar role; experience supervising or managing people. Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns); annual completion of continuing education and ability to meet IRS/state requirements. Computer proficiency with MS Office; ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Flexibility in schedule and work assignments based on business needs; high school diploma or equivalent or higher. About the role’s scope
