The Grade Foreman oversees and supervises personnel and activities associated with base & stone division to meet company production scheduled and quality specifications. The role is best suited for a team player who is action-oriented and can lead with a firm yet
Job Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and manage crews to ensure they are focused on safety, quality, and productivity.
Perform grading and base installation in accordance with DOT, local, and commercial specifications.
Confirm crew is on-task and performing work to specification and schedule.
Confirm the job site is cleaned properly.
Provide solutions to any issues that arise; communicate to the Superintendent, when applicable.
Physically review jobsite after work completed for quality, issues, and concerns. Provide solutions to any issues that need to be addressed; communicate to the Superintendent, when applicable.
Communicate with customers prior to the start of the project including, but not limited to, confirming customers are prepared for the work to begin.
Make sure tow companies are prepped and contacted.
Reviewing map(s) to ensure the customer fully understands work flow.
Obtaining customer contacts, on-site and general contact.
Assist in organizing and managing weekend work - all aspects of the operation including ordering of materials, logistics, maintenance, and outside services.
Coordinate between other crews, subs, and vendors.
Read and implement architectural plans and specifications (application rates, grades, Instruct crew members in a professional manner in order to relay expectations and instill motivation.
Work alongside crew members and assist in all capacities of applications.
Work with the Superintendent and upper management team to stay updated on product knowledge and be informed of any changes.
Respond to internal and external requests and provide high quality support to customers and colleagues.
Skills Needed:
Ability to operate a motor grader, skid steer, roller, etc; John Deere 622GP and/or CAT 120 Motor Grader.
Minimum 2-3 years as a Grading Foreman is required.
Asphalt paving experience is preferred.
Strong analytical ability, quantitative and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
Must be comfortable with utilizing technology and softwares: ipad, iphone, and computer.
Confidentiality and trustworthiness.
Professionalism in conducting interactions with customers, office staff, and crew.
