Black & Veatch The Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced and motivated
Water Resources Project Manager
to lead and manage watershed, stormwater and drainage infrastructure projects across Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydrology, stormwater management, and environmental permitting, with proven experience in delivering complex projects for municipal, county, and state clients.
The Opportunity As the
Water Resources Project Manager , you will have the opportunity to drive project planning, design, and delivery with a focus on watershed and stormwater management, including green infrastructure, flood mitigation, and water quality improvements.
Responsibilities
Lead the planning, design, and implementation of watershed and stormwater management projects, including green infrastructure, flood mitigation, and water quality improvements.
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables from initiation through closeout.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, scientists, GIS analysts, and construction managers.
Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring satisfaction and fostering long-term relationships.
Oversee regulatory compliance with local, state (FDEP), and federal (EPA) requirements.
Support business development efforts including proposal writing, cost estimating, and presentations.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development.
Qualifications Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida required.
10+ years of experience in water resources engineering, with a focus on stormwater and watershed projects.
Strong knowledge of Florida stormwater regulations, TMDLs, NPDES, and BMPs.
Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., ICPR, SWMM, HEC-RAS).
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Experience with grant-funded projects and public sector clients is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Work Environment
Hybrid work schedule: 3 days in office and 2 days remote.
Typical office environment with potential construction site exposure; may involve extreme weather, noise, safety hazards, and physical activities such as walking, standing, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
