Overview
The Trade Compliance Manager provides guidance, work products, and authorizations to ensure company trade compliance with all U.S. Government regulations to include the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR); Export Administration Regulations (EAR); Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC); Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF); and other USG agencies as needed. Responsibilities
Provide trade compliance guidance and export authorization strategy on new business opportunities, proposals and contracts. Review program requirements, determine export authorizations needed, and then develop, submit, and execute exemption or licensing as needed. Coordinate export documentation requirements with Shipping/Receiving and Program Management. Evaluate and authorize the release of international shipments, technical data and defense services to foreign persons. Execute AES/EEI and DFE filings. Coordinate imports with program management, purchasing, shipping, and customs broker for import clearances, licenses / exemptions and duty. Train personnel in available export authorizations prior to foreign interactions. Monitor company activities for import or export violations and report to company management and US agencies. Maintain registrations or bonds with DDTC, ATF, Customs Broker, AES, etc. Be the primary company focal point with US Government agencies for all import and export inquiries. Assess and certify company compliance with Federal laws concerning import/export. Maintain comprehensive import/export records as required by federal law, and provide reports to US Government agencies and Corporate as appropriate. Train, manage, and empower trade compliance personnel in the activities as described herewith. Education
Bachelor’s degree preferred - experience may be considered in lieu of degree Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience required; prefer 10 years direct applicable experience; in-depth and direct working experience with ITAR, EAR, ATFE and OFAC regulations required. Must be an empowered official. Detailed working knowledge of current U.S. government export and import regulations. Standard computer skills required. Senioriy level
