The UTA Lockheed Martin College Work Experience Program (CWEP) allows undergraduate and graduate students to gain real-world work skills relevant to their academic and career goals. It is part of UTA’s initiatives to foster engagement between the university and the corporate community, aligning with the Maverick Advantage program that emphasizes experiential, hands-on learning. CWEP is a two-semester program open to both undergraduates and graduates. Students may work up to 25 hours per week during spring and fall semesters, and up to 40 hours during breaks, with supervisor approval. It is a paid opportunity, with pay rates based on class standing and position type (technical vs. non-technical). Note:
Students will not earn academic credit for participating in CWEP, as it is not a "for credit" program. Required Qualifications
Majors considered for technical roles include Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics. Other majors should apply for non-technical roles. U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Person status. Good academic standing as per college requirements. Completion of at least one semester at UTA prior to applying. Enrollment as a full-time student at UTA for Fall and Spring semesters: Undergraduates: 12 credit hours Graduate (Master's level): 9 credit hours Additional credits at another institution are in addition to full-time enrollment at UTA. Agreement to background and urine drug screening; positive tests disqualify from work at Lockheed Martin facilities. While in CWEP, students cannot hold other paid positions on campus or employment without approval, to avoid conflicts of interest. Preferred Qualifications
